Over the past four years, we at Kionnali have been on an incredible journey to develop the most comprehensive and advanced self-contained living systems in the world. Our mission has been to create systems that help you protect, adapt, and heal, no matter the climate. We’re so excited to share some of the highlights from our journey and what’s coming next.

Our systems use 75% less energy than an average house, as validated by our partners at the University of Aberdeen.
More Insulation
Our proprietary VSIP system, developed with the University of Strathclyde Advanced Materials Research Lab, offers five times more insulation than standard systems.
What We’ve Built
At our headquarters near Stonehaven, Scotland, we’ve been pushing our testbed systems to the limit in the harsh climate of North-East Scotland. We’ve also built a robust network of local material suppliers, from timber to wool to solar panels, allowing us to build quickly, efficiently, and with the best materials available.
Our office is a LightForm, designed to be a learning space as we work. The LightFactory, our modular and flexible workspace, includes state-of-the-art additive manufacturing and laser welding capabilities.

Everything we've learned about off-grid systems, in easy to install customisable kits. Power, water, heat and more will be available on our shop, all designed to be long lasting, easy to maintain and non-toxic.
System Blocks
Our revolutionary energy storage systems, manufactured right here in Stonehaven. PowerPack, a modular and repairable battery storage module, and the Thermal Flow Battery, a revolutionary thermal store with up to 400% better energy density.
Living Systems
The expected production launch of move-in-ready LightForm and FireFly homes. Fully integrated modular buildings with complete systems, designed to take care of you.

We’re so grateful for the overwhelming support we received during our funding round with Seedrs. Our pre-registration was oversubscribed by 400%!
Changing Strategy
We experienced a number of delays in the fundraising process, and during that time Seedrs merged with Republic to become Republic Europe. Our fundraising was not as well aligned with the new entity, so we decided to close the round early and limit investment to our close network.
Future opportunity
Right now, we are excited to refocus on rolling out our products. However, we are still committed 100% to including our community in our growth.
